Gift ListThe choice of Venue for the Ceremony and the Type of Ceremony are the first things you think about when planning your wedding - You want it to be a truly memorable and meaningful ceremony, reflecting your own beliefs and commitment to each other.
Once upon a time you had a choice between a religious wedding in church and a secular wedding in a registry office and it had to be in the bride's parish. But now the possibilities are endless so you can really personalise your wedding and make the ceremony deeply meaningful to you both as a couple. You can be married in the location of your choice at home or abroad, on a beach, on a hillside, on a lake, in a marquee in the garden, in a castle or in the grounds with the castle behind you - the choice is yours and there are celebrants both religious and humanist who can help you to tailor the Wedding Ceremony of your dreams.
Many people don't think about religion much at all until it comes to the milestones in their lives such as weddings and christenings. Just because you don't go to church it doesn't mean you don't want a Christian wedding and to make traditional vows. But maybe you don't want the formality of a church setting and would prefer a location which you feel is more romantic and meaningful to you.
The Rev. Dr Judith Hampson is friendly and approachable and will help you to bring together all the elements that are important to you. She can advise on the legal requirements and can tailor a ceremony especially for your personality. She is an ordained interfaith minister (you don't have to belong to any particular faith or one of you might be religious and the other not) and she can perform your ceremony in any location of your choice in Scotland. You can phone Judith on 01309 674817 or email judith@context-uk.com or look at her website www.wedding-ceremonies-scotland.co.uk
If you prefer a Humanist ceremony you can choose a Humanist celebrant to tailor your ceremony to your own views. It will be secular (non religious) and you will be able to make a commitment to each other in a way that is meaningful to you and is recognised by the Registrar General in Scotland as a legally binding marriage.
Janet Donnelly and George Caldow are two Humanist celebrants who will be happy to help you plan your special celebration. You can find out more at www.humanism-scotland.org.uk

You, as the Bride, are the star of the show, the centre of attention and will be in almost all the photographs so Your Wedding Dress will be captured on film forever. Budget for the best you can afford and make sure it's going to show you to your best advantage. You can't beat having it made to measure but don't forget, if you get one off the peg it can be altered to fit.
The type of reception you want will determine the venue you choose. Here in Moray you have a great selection to choose from to suit the mood of your celebration.
