A wedding dress is no ordinary dress and requires specialist handling. An alteration to a wedding dress usually means it has to be taken apart, with care to preserve the delicate fabric and trim, and recut to your measurements. Often a wedding dress alteration needs a designer's eye to solve a problem, such as enlarging a bodice which is too tight where there is no spare seam allowance to let out. Not all Bridal wear alterations are complicated and a fairly simple alteration can make a big difference.

Turning disaster into Triumph
Mandy was a second time bride and wanted the wedding she had always dreamed of in a bridal gown to make her feel like a princess. She had ordered her wedding dress on the internet and when it arrived it was enormous. There wasn't time to send it back so she looked for a specialist in Bridal Wear Alterations. Elgin is a lively market town on the river Lossie in Moray. Elgin town grew in importance during the 13th century & still has its medieval street plan, with a busy main street opening onto Elgin's coobled marketplace.In 1224 King David I raised the status of Elgin to Royal Burgh & this period also sawthe development of Elgin Cathedral (and Elgin Castle). For 500 years Spynie Palce near Elgin, was the fortified seat of the Bishops of Moray. To the southwest of Elgin is Pluscarden Abbey, now home to Benedictine monks. Elgin is in the heart of Speyside in Moray whichhas the greatest concentration of malt whisky distilleries in Scotland. No visit to Elgin is complete without at least one visit to a distillery on the famous Whisky Trail.
